As a Manager for Commercial Analytics, you will play a crucial role in managing the Analytics team focusing on the Commercial area. Your role will be to enable the team to deliver insight from data and scalable data products to the Marketing & Sales teams at Epidemic Sound.
You will enable data-driven decisions at a business-critical level and directly impact our company strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of Data Scientists, guiding them in transforming complex data into actionable insights that enhance business performance.
In this role, you will significantly impact the team by fostering a culture of analytical excellence and innovation. You will also influence broader company initiatives through strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Product.
Our Commercial Analytics team consists of 3 skilled professionals who are dedicated to important objectives, such as optimizing marketing spend, LTV forecasting, and compliance with our licensing model. As their manager, you will collaborate with various departments, ensuring that we leverage data effectively to achieve our commercial objectives while supporting the overall mission of the organization.
The Commercial Analytics team is part of the Analytics division which is situated directly under the Chief Product Officer. You will be part of the Analytics management team, consisting of the Analytics Director and 4 Analytics Managers.

Your key responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership & Project Management: Set team goals, scope tasks, prioritize initiatives, and drive innovation in data product development.
- Team Well-being & Development: Foster collaboration, monitor team dynamics, promote well-being, align individual goals with organizational needs, and coordinate team activities.
- Talent Development: Organize training, provide mentorship & feedback, encourage knowledge sharing, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Administrative Oversight & Recruitment: Approve timesheets and expenses, ensure policy compliance, act as hiring manager for recruiting new team members and onboard new staff.
- Analytics Leadership: Drive continuous improvement of the Analytics division, contribute to the Analytics strategy, serve as a key representative for Analytics in the company.
Requirements:
- People management experience and desire.
- Experience of leading complex projects with multiple touch points and stakeholders.
- Extensive expertise in Marketing Analytics and familiarity with the latest technology & methods in marketing measurements.
- Skilled in data visualization & data storytelling.
- Experience of BI tools and data warehouses.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable driving home a point to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
- Background of working as a Data Scientist/Analyst, ideally in a tech product scale-up.
- Experience with B2B marketing and/or subscriptions.
- Experience working with Looker and dbt.
- Knowledge of SQL & Python.
