Shared Products & Platforms (SPP) offers a powerful suite of tools for newsrooms and journalists within Schibsted Media and for our external partners. SPP supports the entire editorial process with advanced tools, enhancing content distribution by leveraging new technologies. From planning and discovery to creation and personalized recommendations in text, video, and sound - SPP meets the needs of modern media operations.

We have a strong need for data-driven product development and decision-making, where you will play a key role in enhancing our analytics to deliver valuable insights. As an Insights Lead, you will shape data-driven strategies, optimize decision-making processes, and integrate insights to support product development within SPP.

Role Description

In this role, you will enhance our analytics capabilities, support the development of data products, and ensure advanced product analytics solutions are implemented across our product portfolio. You will manage and develop a team of in total four Data Analysts and Data Engineers, fostering collaboration and alignment with both current and future data needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop a Team of Data Professionals: Foster collaboration, trust, and a supportive culture that values diverse perspectives. Manage day-to-day operations while mentoring team members to grow both professionally and personally, promoting communication and shared success
  • Lead Data Product Development: Assist in packaging and delivering data products (articles, videos, podcasts, etc.) and support teams in identifying data requirements early in product development.
  • Data Analytics Strategy:Recommend the right tools, implement and manage product analytics solutions for the CMS, guide teams on metrics and tracking, and support dashboard setup and user behaviour/usage analysis to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Work closely with central data teams to ensure consistency and alignment with Schibsted's tools and best practices, while collaborating across all SPP teams to optimize data strategies.
  • Drive Data Competency: Enhance the data literacy of Engineering Managers and Product Managers to better integrate data-driven insights into decision-making processes.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain and optimize data pipelines, perform ad-hoc analysis, ensure the quality of data models, and stay updated with the latest technologies to continually improve data infrastructure.
  • Foster Cross-Team Collaboration: Lead the Data & Analytics team to work closely with other product teams to refine data strategies, monitor progress, and adapt to challenges as they arise.
  • Innovate and Optimize: Promote a culture of innovation within the team, focusing on the development of advanced analytics solutions that meet the evolving needs of SPP's product teams.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in analytics, computer science, or related field
  • Excellent data analysis and visualization skills, proficiency with relevant tools and software
  • Experience in leading data and analytics disciplines (3+ years)
  • Experience in people management (2+ years)
  • Strong leadership skills including effective communication and stakeholder management
  • English language written and spoken fluency is required
