Global Engineering Training Center Manager

In alignment with Hitachi Energy Grid Integration Business Unit's vision and growth strategy, you as Global Engineering Training Center Manager for Grid and Power Quality Solutions are responsible for designing and deploying a training and development framework that facilitates improved organizational performance and technical skill. The role as Global Engineering Training Center Manager enables the business to scale up by supporting the knowledge transfer between the Global Center of Competence, Hubs and Regional Center of Competence through upskilling and reskilling of current employees and induction and onboarding of new employees. This position requires working in close collaboration and alignment with different teams across the organization, especially the global functions and the Hubs.
How you will make an impact:
- You develop and lead the long-term and strategic plans related to training, to set the building blocks for the training journey of the Grid and Power Quality Solutions (GPQSS) business including global governance, budget, operations and continuous improvement.
- You drive a holistic and common training approach to functional and product-related training across the Global center of competence, functions and hubs, to leverage synergies, including the use of systems and tools for training for GPQSS and help set common standards and define synergies together with other Global Product Groups for the Business Unit Grid Integration.
- You and your team create, coordinate and ensure effective delivery of course content on technical trainings together with the Functions and the Hubs with a focus on Engineering, Service and Sales that is conducive for learning. You may use a variety of mediums such as instructor-led, e-learning and virtual classroom solutions and will gather course evaluation and measures the effectiveness of training programs.
- You map the existing training and certification programs in line with the people vision enabling lifelong learning and growth, deliver and review new programs, lead the process to plan and review them to cover the needs of the business.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in training program design, learning and development and/or operations/quality leadership with a proven record in training and employee development.
- 5+ years' experience leading teams (remote leadership experience preferred).
- Technical background and experience in an engineering environment is a plus.
- Successful experience of developing and implementing training roadmap starting with a white page.
- A proven track record of continuous process improvement; positive leadership; strong planning experience and connecting solutions to business outcomes.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, continually changing, matrixed environment.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to successfully multi-task and meet deadlines and customer demands with a sense of urgency.
- A proven change agent who fosters teamwork and has proven ability to adapt and lead by influence.
