Are you passionate about agriculture and working closely with farmers? We are looking for a Farm Sustainability Manager for a temporary parental leave cover to our Agriculture department. Location is flexible between Stockholm and Gothenburg.

Arla is owned by our dairy farmers and we work to get the best possible price for the milk they deliver so that they are able to invest in their farms and even expand in order to bring more milk to the world. Our 13,500 current owners are based in seven countries: Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

How you will make an impact

As Farm Sustainability Manager, you will be a part of the team that will executing the Arla on-farm Net Zero Sustainability strategy. You will also take part in the implementation of Arla's advisory strategy to ensure that decisions and actions on farms will enable us as a cooperative to reach our climate targets. You will utilize data insights to help Arla farmers benchmark to identify are-as for improvements, and engage stakeholders in the climate journey and facilitating that our farmers receive and act on climate insights, projects and solutions offered by Arla.

Other areas of responsibility include:

  • Delivery of farm climate workshop program. Organize and facilitate farmer meetings, farm house/Arla local meetings with invited specialists (eg. climate specialist/external experts), which will ensure that farmers know what they need to implement to deliver on their sustainability targets
  • Encourage farmers to share knowledge, experiences, concerns and solutions with each other to take impactful climate actions on farm
  • Collaboration with commercial teams to develop evidence based proof point for customers and the Arla business
  • Partnership with Arla's Centre of Excellence team transfer the knowledge from our climate database and innovation program
  • Written communication skills to write articles for information and inspiration to members

You will be part of a team consisting of 7 people and report to Senior Farm Sustainability and Commercialization Manager. As this roles covers the West area, some travel can be expected.

What will make you succesful

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to defining the future of dairy and who has a passion for agriculture and sustainability. In order to be successful in this role, suitable previous experience include:

  • Substantial agricultural experience (preferably dairy) within business development/advisory
  • Ability to use data-driven insight and analytical dashboards e.g. Power BI and Excel
  • Scientific interest and the ability to interpret and communicate climate insights and relevant learnings from climate expert or external experts
  • Strong proficiency in Swedish and English

In order to thrive in the role you are a team player and strong collaborator, who with drive and energy can help the team to deliver on short and long term goals. You are a strong communicator with experience in managing several stakeholders, preferably in a matrix organization.
