Amazon Web Services (AWS) Server Engineer

About The Role

Data Center Operations (DCO) Technicians are integral members of the Infrastructure Operations Team, the foundation of AWS that upholds our rapidly expanding AWS business and serves customers 24/7.

DCO Technicians are responsible for maintaining the infrastructure, which includes servers, network devices, and various components, to uphold high standards of operational performance in safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.

Every day presents unique challenges, including:

  • Onsite team coverage in shifts and/or weekly on-call responsibilities
  • Timely response to high-severity events within SLAs
  • Troubleshooting and repairing servers and network devices
  • Diagnosing network connection issues
  • Collaborating and fostering relationships with different Data Center teams
  • Engaging with third-party vendors and contractors
  • Proactively seeking opportunities for self-improvement and enhancing processes and systems

We are currently considering candidates to work from the following locations:

Västerås, SWE

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1+ years of technical experience

  • Familiarity with computer hardware components and operating systems
  • Proficiency in managing tasks and priorities using a ticketing system and coordination with supervisor
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting server hardware issues
  • Demonstrates Amazon's leadership principles required for this role
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, showcasing strong time management skills
  • Capable of following instructions from a structured work system or team lead
  • Physically able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 20kg daily

Valid EU driving license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with problem ticket tracking, prioritization, and escalation processes
  • Basic knowledge of networking
  • Demonstrates Amazon's leadership principles required for this role
  • Meets or exceeds Amazon's requirements in functional and technical depth
  • Basic understanding of data center facilities
