The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is on the lookout for a Financial Data Analyst to join their Data Visualization and Analytics Department.

What you'll be doing
As a Financial Data Analyst, you will utilize your skills to derive insights from financial and statistical data, effectively communicate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and exhibit a proactive attitude to address any gaps in experience requirements swiftly.

Your role will involve:

  • Serving as a strategic partner/consultant, promptly and comprehensively addressing internal and external customer queries.
  • Automating routine data processes to enhance efficiency, minimize errors, and allocate resources to strategic activities.
  • Optimizing operations across departments through the implementation of intelligent data solutions and automated workflows.
  • Ensuring data precision, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Supporting cross-functional projects that demand sophisticated data analysis, business intelligence, and automation solutions.
  • Creating visualizations and advanced analytics solutions in collaboration with VFS teams and local markets.
  • Collaborating with IT to integrate critical data elements into data warehousing technology.
  • Engaging with business and tech professionals to develop and enhance business tools utilizing descriptive and predictive analytics.
  • Sharing best practices in predictive modeling, data mining, and business optimization with VFS analytics practitioners.
  • Analyzing trends within VFS in comparison to external financial organizations.
  • Assisting the finance function in crafting executive information, reports, and metrics for financial and non-financial data.
  • Participating in business intelligence initiatives at the regional, market, and Global HQ levels.
  • Undertaking ad hoc reporting and analysis to support various departments within finance.

Qualifications likely necessary for success:

  • BS/BA in data science, engineering, computer science, analytics, statistics, math, or related field; MS/MBA is advantageous.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in data analytics, data science, BI, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar scripting tools.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for complex querying, data extraction, and manipulation.
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts and architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes for data integration.
  • Exposure to cloud-based data analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is valued.
  • Statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and optimization proficiency.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Experience in multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detailed-oriented and proactive work approach.
  • Fluency in English, with knowledge of an additional language considered a bonus.
