We are looking for a Head of commercial

Description of the role

This role will add value to our growth activities by identifying new commercial opportunities and managing marketing efforts. Be updated of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to upper management. An excellent commercial director has an entrepreneurial mindset and great leadership skills. The ideal candidate will also be a creative strategist with excellent organizational abilities.

The goal is to promote and expand the company's commercial activity that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drives partnerships and is responsible, for revenue and profitability
  • Is key in setting the commercial strategy and takes lead in setting and implementing actions
  • Sets comprehensive targets and incentives for growth and commercial success, in alignment with the Group commercial strategy.
  • Oversees the coordination and collaboration of product, sales & marketing and ensures alignment with engineering and innovation
  • Coordinates sales and commercial partnerships within and outside the company
  • Is responsible for driving revenue and profit growth
  • Makes sure marketing activities are KPI-driven and align with overall strategy
  • Is a change agent when necessary and makes sure commercial processes are constantly improved and optimized
  • Encourages growth mindset and creates a results-oriented culture where employees take ownership and responsibility for results both individually and as a group.
  • Consolidation of all order intake, net sales, and incoming leads through current CRM-systems.
  • Creates structure throughout the sales-teams in the organization to identify synergies, gaps in global coverage, cross-selling enforcement, as well as between products and affiliates
  • Sets and ensures consolidated ways of working that build a sales culture that is in line with overall strategy and goals. Makes sure sales adher to commercial standards in terms of what should be expected from a sales person.
  • In cooperation with HR, trains sales and business development professionals within the company.
  • Is responsible for e-commerce.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Life Science-related area

Experience

  • Extensive, minimum 5 years, Sales & Marketing experience, of which at least 3 in a global context.
  • Must have min 3 years experience in leading larger and complex commercial and marketing teams (different divisions, multiple products, preferable instrumentation, consumables,and reagents)
  • Documented hands-on sales experience, being able to give examples of successful negotiation and deal-making
  • Global sales business and international business acumen
  • Proven track record of driving results in marketing
  • Experience in working with a workforce with highly educated employees such as engineers, entrepreneurs and innovators.
  • Strategic commercial strategy experience, with specific experience from executing the strategy and translating it into actions.
  • Line management experience in an operative global role is preferred.
  • Established and proven, excellent (complex) project management skills.
  • Solution selling is key, both to end-user and to senior management.
  • Need to understand how to sell through distributors and how to drive and evaluate those.
  • Experience from the US market
  • English is a must, other languages a plus
  • Experience and proven success in Life Science andLaboratory equipment is a plus.

Knowledge

  • Excellent skills in English, verbal and in writing
  • Add knowledge (like IT-software, language, specific professional areas of knowledge)

Practical conditions

  • The role requires periodic travel to various destinations around the world to attend meetings, conferences, and collaborations.
  • You are expected to be flexible regarding travel and able to manage different time zones seamlessly.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing work conditions and time zones
