Lead Backend Developer Dstny for Service Providers · Destiny for Service Providers · Hybrid Remote

Västerås, Västmanland, Sweden Destiny Group Full time

Like the roots of a great oak tree, we want you to expand your roots horizontally as well as in the depth. At Dstny, we look for sharp minds, courageous forward-thinkers, fun-lovers, kind hearts and beautiful souls.

Dstny - Cloud infrastructure software for enterprise communications

Our Analytics product is comprised ofa team of people tasked with building our analytics platform, which presents a wide variety of data sets. These are highly customizable for our customers based on their needs.

This requires a high degree of flexibility in the UI and needs to be flexible and configurable in terms of features and functionality which correspond to our customer's needs. The components and views can be loaded dynamically and presented in various ways depending on context.

This requires a technically-more-advanced backend that supports the GUI for the problem at hand, and a design that allows us to add new features and functions with ease. A different way of visualizing the information, for instance.

The end user experience should still be very intuitive and simple, we withhold the technical complexity from the end users so they still have a great UX

Products, teams and the role

As a backend developer, you are responsible for the technical implementation of integrations towards our partners and their systems. You will also be responsible for improving the internal APIs of the platform and functions to support good integrations. For our partners it's important that we are an easy partner to work with that plays well with other systems and provides a good user experience when it comes to activation and SSO integrations.

The role also consists of implementing new modules that can be run in the platform where a external data source (e.g. Zoom) shall be supported. This requires handling data access, storage and interpretation and implementation of the data both in terms of communication information and integration of the platform into the customers environments e.g. SSO etc.

For this role, it is crucial to have good communication skills and be able to independently determine the requirements and best solution together with operations, support and customer success. Finding the long term stable solution that is maintainable, configurable and can be monitored and logged efficiently requires a high level of responsibility and ownership of the problem and the solutions. This is a very iterative and collaborative task where the domain experts are key stakeholders in making sure we maximize the value of the data sets available based on the market's needs and requirements.

We are building a platform where we strive to maximize reuse and utilization of all features we implement in various contexts and environments, hence the design decisions need to be based on a "platform first" mindset where we drive the non-data source specific SDK features forward as we implement modules on top of the SDK.

We work on a hybrid basis with our main office locations inStockholm and Västerås.

Key responsibilities making up the role:

  • Backend development tasks
  • As a lead developer, have the ability to take on PO responsibilities as well
  • Join the team using SCRUM as a development process
  • Form a close-knit team with the developers, testers, and product owners
  • Work on, enhance and deliver the integration between an e.g., identity provider and our platform
  • Document in a visual and easy-to-understand way
  • Be able to work in various cloud platforms e.g. Azure & AWS

Furthermore, the role would involve some of the following tasks:

  • Build integration clients between e.g. a Identity provider and our platform
  • Built clients that can synchronize data between our system and other systems e.g. customer systems
  • Implement a module (i.e. support for a new data source e.g. Zoom data) that will consume the report SDK:
    • Understand the source data format, access and reason for us consuming it
    • Understand the report SDK and implement a logic for interpreting the data from the source
    • Understand how to store the data in e.g. a SQL or document database (scale, retention, sharding etc.)
  • Evolving the report SDK based on new requirements for new data sources etc. while still having backwards compatibility for existing SDK consumers
  • Build a non-data source specific SDK feature that solves a problem for a given data set or structure that also can be reused for future implementations (i.e. solve problems once). This requires the ability to understand what to abstract to the SDK level
  • Move from a more monolithic delivery model to a micro service architecture with containers and orchestration
  • Design a data storage solution that is performant and scalable for large data sets

The person behind the Lead backend developer we are looking for:

  • A great team player, a collaborator and sharer of knowledge and expertise
  • A solution finder, self-motivated and result-driven, able to engage with different teams
  • A positive, resilient, and passionate person. You turn the "cannot" into a calm and encouraged "let's find out together"

Valued people, great culture:

We welcome interest from anyone, we need the person to have the right technical skills while being located close enough to the offices in Stockholm orVästerås, and being currently eligible to work in Sweden.

Furthermore, we are looking for the following:

  • A university degree in computer science with 4+ years of experience as a backend developer
  • Be comfortable working in Linux, Windows, and different browsers

Have experience working with the following technologies/tools:

  • C#/.NET Core and Framework
  • Azure
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • MSSQL
  • SignalR
  • Git
  • Scrum
  • VSCode and Visual Studio
  • TeamCity
  • NUnit
