Transport Engineer

Welcome to our transportation department at BIL. We are a team of 15 professionals focusing on areas like logistics, packaging maintenance, and technology to provide top-notch services to both internal and external clients.

Your Contribution to the Shift towards Clean Energy

The role of a transport engineer involves international communication within Westinghouse, direct interaction with external carriers, and other stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of WSE transport packaging for Class 7 shipments
  • Ensuring long-term supply of transport packaging for UF6, fuel transports, powder, and cask packaging
  • Maintenance process for packaging and relevant instructions for inspection and upkeep
  • Collaboration with authorities and WEC for container licensing and validation
  • Communication of licensing/validation requirements to ensure operational compliance
  • Engagement in customer interactions regarding transport packaging and equipment to ensure fuel deliveries and customer satisfaction with transport solutions
  • Technical collaboration within the global transport organization
  • Ensuring the development of hazardous goods securing plans by carriers

In addition to daily tasks, proactive involvement in ad hoc activities to enhance collaboration among Westinghouse departments is encouraged. This position is based in Westinghouse AB in Västerås, with opportunities for remote work when necessary.

Furthermore, an enthusiasm for technical environments and a curiosity to learn more about nuclear fuel are valuable traits.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering specializing in logistics, mechanics, or related fields
  • Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, lead, and organize tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English languages

Knowledge of French or German is advantageous.
