We are currently in search of a skilled Scientist to join the Bioscience COPD IPF Department within Early Respiratory and Immunology (R&I), based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Bioscience COPD/IPF department comprises 7 teams spread across Sweden, UK, and US, focusing on advancing projects within the portfolio, enhancing understanding of COPD and IPF, and aiding in target identification for new projects.

About the Position:

As a Scientist, you will plan, optimize, and execute in vitro experiments, support analysis from both in vitro and in vivo studies, and contribute to the progress of drug discovery projects, generating publishable scientific insights.

You are expected to actively engage in scientific discussions, provide valuable input in experiment design, and drive projects and techniques.

This lab-based role involves working on multiple ongoing projects, conducting experiments across various cells and tissues for in vitro, in vivo, and patient studies, supporting the identification of new drug targets and the advancement of drug discovery projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute in vitro/ex vivo experiments according to study plans
  • Contribute to data interpretation and planning of further experiments
  • Communicate results effectively to project members, teams, or departments as required
  • Be a valuable team member supporting projects to achieve their objectives
  • Conduct multiple areas of work in parallel to agreed timelines
  • Possess practical skills and demonstrate flexibility within and across teams

Your Profile:

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant science degree (MSc or BSc) e.g. Molecular/Cell Biology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology
  • Practical experience in running in vitro assays and cell culturing, along with experimental experience in cell and molecular biology methods, immunoassays, protein and RNA analysis
  • Isolation, culturing, and analysis of primary cell cultures, experience in biological dose response assays
  • Experience in immunological methods (ELISA, MSD), protein analysis (western blot), RNA analysis (qPCR), handling, and evaluation of pharmacological substances
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
