We are seeking a laboratory skilled Scientist to join the Bioscience COPD IPF Department in the Early Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) team based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Bioscience COPD/IPF department comprises 7 teams located across Sweden, the UK, and the US, focusing on advancing projects within the portfolio, enhancing knowledge of COPD and IPF, and facilitating target identification for new initiatives.


About the Role:

As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for planning, optimizing, and executing in vitro experiments, supporting analysis from both in vitro and in vivo studies to drive drug discovery projects and generate valuable scientific insights.

You will actively participate in scientific discussions, provide input in experiment design and data interpretation, and contribute to project progression and innovation.

This is a lab-centric role involving participation in multiple ongoing projects, conducting experiments with various cells and tissues for in vitro, in vivo, and patient studies.

This position presents the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and execution of experiments for identifying new drug targets and advancing drug discovery projects.


Responsibilities:
  • Execute in vitro/ex vivo experiments following study plans
  • Contribute to interpreting experimental data and play a crucial role in planning further experiments
  • Effectively communicate results to project members, teams, and departments as needed
  • Collaborate effectively in supporting projects to achieve objectives
  • Conduct multiple areas of work concurrently within agreed timelines
  • Demonstrate practical skills and flexibility within and across teams

Your Profile:
  • A relevant science degree (PhD) (e.g., Molecular/Cell Biology, Pharmacy, Biotechnology)

Practical experience in in vitro assays, cell culturing, cell and molecular biology methods, immunoassays, protein and RNA analysis is required. Desirable skills include experience in isolation, culturing, and analysis of primary cell cultures, biological dose response assays, immunological methods (ELISA, MSD), protein analysis (western blot), RNA analysis (qPCR), and evaluation of pharmacological drug substances. Experience in lung research is advantageous.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential
