Group Compliance supports SEB's business being conducted in an ethical, sustainable and compliant way for the benefit of SEB's customers, shareholders and the society. We are now looking for a Compliance Officer to join the Staff & Support Functions Compliance team, with main focus on Group and Business Services (GBS).

Group Compliance is a control function within the SEB Group. Our main duty is to support and control the first line organisation to act in a proactive manner with long term sustainable decisions, leading to both efficiency and effectiveness with regards to regulatory areas from a local and global perspective. Group Compliance is global and independent from the first line organisation, reporting to the CEO and the Board. Group Compliance, together with Group Risk, forms the second line of defence within the bank and shall assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the first line's risk management and report on risks and risk development.

With the aim of further enhancing the control framework related to emerging risks such as third party, cyber and sustainability, in 2023 Group Compliance established a new department with dedicated focus on SEB's Staff and Support functions, including GBS, Financial Crime Prevention, Group Technology, Sustainable Banking, Group Finance and HR.

What you will be doing

As a Compliance Officer supporting GBS, you will be responsible for compliance activities in GBS. You will provide expert advisory services on compliance issues and also assess and control compliance risks. You will also participate in the Strategic Initiatives New Product Approval Process which focusses on new products, systems and processes affecting SEB and/or SEB Group more broadly.

The Compliance Officer role means daily contacts with different parts of the organisation, including members of senior management, as well as close collaboration with other colleagues within Group Compliance.

You will report to the Head of Compliance for Staff and Support functions.

Who we are looking for

You should have an academic degree from a university or a business school. A law degree is preferred but not a necessity as long as you have a thorough interest in, and knowledge of, the regulatory landscape around financial services. You have preferably earlier worked on matters related to governance, personal data processing and outsourcing and have an interest in technical developments affecting the financial industry and regulatory initiatives related thereto.

You should have at least 5 years' experience from working in the financial industry or related area in a capacity that has provided you with insights to relevant regulations and/or risk management more broadly.

As a person you are intellectually curious, effective and solution-oriented with good communication skills and high integrity.To be successful in this position you also need to be able to manage a working landscape with dynamically shifting priorities, timelines and demands. Fluency in English and Swedish is required.
