As Global | Category Lead in our Electrical Category team, you will support Cables and Substations Teams, Strategy as well interaction with Suppliers for our offshore wind projects.
 
Your future plans 

 

  • Steering strategic sourcing activities for the Electrical components including functionally coordinating across multiple business units/regions in the different RWE Renewables business areas
  • Development, implementation and management of purchasing strategies for Electrical components to ensure value creation & saving potentials, securing capacity, new sourcing channels, supplier management, supplier development and innovation for the respective areas of responsibility
  • Manage the respective supplier market in terms of opening new and competitive supply channels, development and qualification of suppliers (including global sourcing) and create effective supplier relationship with top management
  • Capture business demands, allocate and handle the teams with regards to tendering activities for the identified work areas, supervising the teams that will hold the responsibility for the tenders and negotiations with the suppliers
  • Responsibility for overseeing the full sourcing process externally and internally in close collaboration with key stakeholders and in line with RWE policies and processes
  • Ensure joint target setting and integration of the electrical procurement consisting of HVDC/HVAC substations, Array and Export onshore and offshore cables
  • Promote and support cross-functional and cross-border collaboration with the respective Regional Heads of Procurement (Americas Onshore, Europe/APAC Onshore and Offshore)
  • Advisory to the Development Leads on direction within the Procurement of electrical components
  • Responsibility for overseeing the Electrical Procurement team within RWE including setting up the KPI, project and workload allocation, cross-functional reporting, strategy responsibility with a direct report to VP, Global WTG & Electrical Procurement

 

Your profile

 

  • High strategic, leadership thinking with experience in developing strategies and leading organizations across different areas of business
  • Minimum 15 years of experience with ideally 10 years of it being in leadership, strategic procurement/sales/strategy roles in wind industry, in particular within HVDC/HVAC substation space
  • Leadership experience in coordinating or managing international, highly specialized teams on all levels
  • Extensive experience in identifying and assessing commercial risks and developing strategies for risk prevention or control in changing market environments
  • Relevant academic degree within economics/engineering/business
  • Ability to support multiple contract packages and stakeholders and to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
  • Ideally experienced in reviewing, drafting, negotiating and contract management of high value and high risk major construction and operations contracts
  • Intercultural understanding and experience in working with different cultures
  • Advanced communication skills (spoken and written) in English, other languages advantageous
  • Willingness to travel as well as the willingness to temporary stays abroad to support our international projects
