About this opportunity
As the Head of Communication in Sweden, you will execute the comprehensive communication strategy for the country, both internally and externally. This includes proactive and reactive media outreach, PR, leadership communication, thought leadership, and social media management. You will manage daily media interactions while also enhancing Nordea’s brand through proactive PR and thought leadership. You will be driving, developing and executing the local Swedish reputation strategy with an omnichannel approach, aimed at protecting and strengthening our position and reputation. This work is done in close collaboration with our local businesses. You will be part of Group Brand, Communication and Marketing (GBCM), which has the ambition to deliver the best brand, communication and marketing experiences, to make people passionate about Nordea. We create value by strengthening the Nordea brand, through excellent communication and marketing together with business areas and markets to reach Nordea’s strategic targets.
You will report to the Head of Group Brand, Communication and Marketing in Sweden and have a team of passionate people reporting to you. We work closely with communication colleagues throughout the Nordics and with Nordea’s business area heads, experts and spokespersons and have a dotted line reporting to the Head of Group Corporate Communication. You will be located in our head office in Stockholm.

What you’ll be doing:
- Being responsible for Nordea’s communications strategy and delivery in Sweden both internally and externally
- Leading a team of communication specialists in Sweden
- Handling daily enquiries from the media at a fast pace and building relationships with journalists and editorial teams
- Planning and executing proactive external communication with Nordea’s spokespersons covering a broad range of topics and in a variety of channels
- Working with messaging, issues management, interview situations and media training
- Acting as a media adviser to especially the Swedish business area heads, experts and spokespersons
- Driving and executing communication plans and strategies for various projects
- Working with quarterly financial reporting communication
- Coordinating and gaining support for communication and strategies with internal stakeholders and units

This also includes understanding of customer centricity, omnichannel approach and insights, i.e. the ability to be analytical and understand what drives reputation
- Are a skilled communicator (written and spoken, in both Swedish and English) and have experience from developing and implementing communication and reputation strategies within an international corporate environment. You are resilient and enjoy working at a fast pace
- Seamlessly interact and collaborate with people at different levels of large matrix organisation and have strong stakeholder management skills
