About this exciting opportunity

As the Head of Trading & Custody Services (TCS), you will oversee all unit deliveries - from managing Capital Market products post-trade services across customer segments to providing a complete range of Settlement services, as well as handling safekeeping and corporate actions services throughout the bank. Being a central figure in ensuring successful deliveries for all of Nordea's four business areas, this position holds significant visibility within the bank and is crucial to Nordea Operations' success. You will collaborate with and be exposed to top leadership within the bank, necessitating excellent stakeholder management skills. Moreover, you will lead and inspire an established TCS leadership team to reach new heights collectively.

Regulatory adherence is also a primary focus in TCS, requiring a strong interest in championing an enhanced risk culture within the organization.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Lead all aspects of Trading and Custody Services across Nordic markets
  • Develop strategic plans to embrace the digital era of banking in partnership with Business Areas
  • Execute the strategy set by the Operations Executive Leadership Team
  • Enhance organizational capabilities while ensuring the presence of appropriate competencies
  • Manage costs, rationalize, and drive improvements
  • Proactively manage the TCS risk agenda - with TCS taking ownership of processes, applications, data, and pertinent regulatory/market mandatory changes
  • Contribute as a member of the Nordea Operations Community

The Head of TCS reports to the global Head of Operations and is part of the Operations Executive Leadership Team. This role involves overseeing approximately 700 individuals across Nordic countries, Poland, and Estonia, with a majority based in Poland.

Ideal candidates are sought from countries where we have a significant presence: Finland, Poland, Denmark, or Sweden.

Your background and experience:

  • Over 10 years' experience in business process optimization, aligning practices, and leveraging automation technologies
  • Experience in strategy and operations in the financial industry, working across geographies, preferably with knowledge of capital markets products and global custody solutions
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and leadership experience, particularly in a large multicultural organization, showcasing a history of delivering results and driving significant change focusing on evolving regulatory landscapes
