We are looking for a Software Test Leader- Automotive for a global automotive Company in Gothenburg.

Start is in March 2026, 9-months limited contract to begin with, Possibility of extension after that.

Description:

An experienced Software Test Leader is being sought with strong leadership and coordination skills. To succeed in this role, experience in verification and validation of automotive software is required, using both traditional methods and modern tools supported by Continuous Integration. The role suits someone who enjoys coaching, leading, and empowering people while demonstrating leadership with an agile mindset.

About:

The organization is one of three development units within Engineering. The scope includes development of interior, body & exterior, chassis, and climate solutions and systems. The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden, with teams located in both Gothenburg and Shanghai.

Software Factory & Release is an enabling section focused on building software and Continuous Integration flow within the engineering unit. The section provides capabilities within software testing, HIL rigs, software integration, and software release flow.

What's in it for you:

As a Software Test Leader, the role plays a central part in planning, coordinating, and communicating software test activities across multiple vehicle programs. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to test policies across all testing activities and executing test strategies through well-defined test plans for each program. The role involves verification and validation of software at all integration levels to ensure high-quality product deliveries, while building a broad cross-functional network within the Engineering organization.

In this role, responsibilities include:

  • Identifying testing requirements for new vehicle programs and developing overall software test plans.

  • Defining, communicating, and aligning verification purpose, test environments, and test scope for all integration levels.

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance testing effectiveness.

  • Facilitating and driving test analysis activities for features and functionalities.

  • Leading test automation efforts to strengthen Continuous Integration.

  • Identifying and evaluating tools and frameworks to improve efficiency in test automation.

  • Tracking quality of automated test cases and taking necessary improvement actions.

  • Monitoring and communicating test progress, risks, and issues to management and stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align testing efforts and improve test coverage across all integration levels.

  • Participating in discussions regarding new features and changes to provide early input for test object updates.

  • Supporting teams in securing correct and adequate test environments before verification activities begin.

  • Summarizing and reporting test results for all integration and release phases.

  • Supporting updates of the Test Policy to remain consistent with organizational directives.

  • Supporting refinement of the Test Strategy to ensure validity across all vehicle platforms.

What you will bring:

Strong leadership experience, integrity, trust-building ability, and a positive attitude are important for creating a healthy working environment. The role requires providing clarity, coaching teams, and establishing prerequisites for accountability and success.

Required background includes:

  • Solid experience working with software integration and verification.

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD.

  • An engineering background — university degree or equivalent professional experience in Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

  • Documented leadership skills and the ability to lead through influence and collaboration.

  • Experience in automotive software engineering.

  • Knowledge of product development processes is considered an advantage.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

This is a full-time consultant position in Gothenburg through Incluso. Start is in March 2026, 9 months limited contract to begin with, with possibility of extension after that.
