As Project Management Office (PMO) Lead at SSAB, you will play a critical role in preparing SSAB's organization for the launch of our new, state-of-the-art production facility in Luleå. In this strategically important position, your leadership will be key to ensuring that the entire organization is operationally ready for one of the company's most significant milestones.

You will take the lead in driving clear timelines, managing critical dependencies and risks, and embedding best practices that enable efficient and coordinated execution across functions. Your ability to bring structure, clarity and momentum will be essential to the success of this transformation.

The position is preferably based in Luleå, but Stockholm, Borlänge, Hämeenlinna, or Raahe are also possible locations. The PMO team is primarily located in Borlänge and Luleå, which means that if you are based elsewhere, regular travel to Luleå should be expected.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is essential for the sustainability of this planet. Steel has been one of the most important materials for developing our society and it will continue to be so. In the roofs over our heads, in the bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB we are proud of our history and leadership in high-strength steel. But we are also aware that the production of steel is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. That is why we have developed the world's first fossil free steel production and has committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB you will be instrumental in realizing this goal and push for the green transformation of the whole steel industry.

About The Position

As PMO Lead at SSAB, you will play a vital role in preparing our organization to transition from operating our current assets to running an entirely new, state-of-the-art production facility. You will be central to this large-scale operational transformation, coordinating workstreams that focus on e.g. people, training, and the development of new ways of working.

In this position, you will help shape and establish the PMO function, serving as the main point of coordination for diverse workstreams. This role is both complex and rewarding, ideally suited for those energized by cross-functional collaboration and the orchestration of operational change in a dynamic, large-scale setting.

  • Coordinate risk management across the project.
  • Manage project timelines and dependencies.
  • Facilitate internal and cross-project collaboration.
  • Lead project reporting and documentation.
  • Optimize project management tools and methods.

To be successful in this role you will need

  • At least 3-5 years of related experience & proven leadership background in project management and/or operations roles.
  • Fluent English language knowledge (written and spoken), excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or another related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
  • Organized, proactive, quality-oriented working style, strong coordination abilities.
  • Solid understanding of project execution and/ or construction environments
