As a GSIE Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering new ground station and antenna infrastructure. You will provide programmatic and technical guidance to support successful project execution.
You will lead the project by coordinating contractor and SSC teams across locations and time zones, ensuring the right competencies are in place.
Requirements
YOUR ROLE
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of new ground station infrastructure and antenna construction projects worldwide, ensuring projects meet schedule, cost, and quality.
- Develop and control project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and performance, while ensuring integrity, safety, compliance, and sustainability.
- Coordinate specification, procurement, design, construction, verification, and operational handover, including documentation.
- Manage site evaluations, acquisitions, and licensing.
- Oversee procurement, contractor selection, logistics including import/export processes for specialized equipment.
Responsibilities
WHO YOU ARE
Minimum requirements and qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering(e.g. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Satcom/Telecom), or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting or managing technical projects involving site acquisition, civil works, and construction.
- Awareness of legal, safety, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to coordinate suppliers and contractors on medium to large scale projects, with understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting.
- Understanding of antennas, modems, data networks, and telecommunication systems.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organization.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g. PPS, PMI or similar),and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Proficiency with MS Project, or similar applications.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Personal competencies:
- Proven project management experience delivering technical and infrastructure projects from initiation to closeout.
- Highly structured and organized, detail oriented, and able to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and workload peaks.
- Results driven, accountable, and proactive, with strong independent ownership and negotiation skills.
- Strong communicator, team motivator, and analytical problem solver skilled in conflict resolution.
- Commercially and technically astute, ability to translate complex issues into cost, risk, and business impact, drive process improvement and knowledge sharing.
Desirable skills and background:
- At least 4 years' experience building satellite ground stations, antennas, or mobile telecom sites, including greenfield, brownfield sites, and deployments in remote, harsh environments (e.g. Arctics).
- Minimum 4 years managing technical projects involving construction or refurbishment of ground station or telecom infrastructure.
- Hands on experience with ground station hardware, ancillary systems (electrical, HVAC, lightning/fire protection), large antennas, and related software including design, integration, and testing.
- Project management qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. ECSS, CCSDS, ITU, IEC, ISO).

LOCATION
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our office in either Solna or Kiruna.
The work involves frequent national and international travel up to 50% to suppliers, hosting sites and SSC facilities. Travel may occasionally occur outside normal working hours.
