At SSC, our infrastructure supports satellite operations, rocket launches, and advanced research. We're looking for a hands-on infrastructure expert who knows their way around Linux, VMware, AWS, and automation, and who's ready to take on challenges that are quite literally out of this world

Requirements

YOUR ROLE

As IT Infrastructure Engineer, you'll have a hands-on technical role with a strategic edge. You'll help shape and run the backbone of SSC's hybrid infrastructure on-prem, in the cloud, and everything in between.

What you'll do

• Manage and develop our global infrastructure with a focus on automation, reliability, and security
• Operate our private cloud stack based on VMware and Nutanix
• Administer and enhance our Linux and Windows environments, with emphasis on Linux
• Contribute to the evolution of our AWS cloud environments and cloud-native services
• Design infrastructure solutions for internal teams and customer-facing projects
• Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Support DevOps efforts, automation, and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, GitHub
• Contribute to architectural decisions and future platform direction
• Stay up to date with trends in cloud, on-prem tech, and IT security
• Collaborate across IT, software development, business stakeholders, and external partners
• Help maintain and improve our physical data centers.

Responsibilities

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for someone who's equally comfortable in the data center as the cloud console. Someone who understands the "why" behind infrastructure and who thrives on building scalable, secure systems that support real-world missions.

You have:

• 5+ years hands-on experience with Linux system administration in complex environments
• 2+ years working with Cloud (AWS) infrastructure and services
• Strong experience with infrastructure as code and automation
• Familiarity with networking, identity management, and security best practices
• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and tooling like Terraform and Ansible

We value experience in:

• Certifications in AWS or other cloud platforms
• Experience with legacy systems and migration strategies
• Background working closely with software development teams

You are:

• Technically curious and eager to learn and share
• Skilled at breaking down complex challenges and building smart solutions
• Detail-oriented but always able to see the bigger picture
• Communicative, collaborative, and comfortable working in cross-functional teams
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Swedish Citizenship is a requirement.

LOCATION

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our office in in Solna with a hybrid setup.
