Head of Finance

Qurrent is now looking for a hands-on Head of Finance who wants to play a central role in shaping the company's financial future. This is a broad, high-impact position where you will combine operational finance, strategic finance, and business development in a fast-paced energy startup.

You will work closely with the CEO and Executive Team from Qurrent's office in central Stockholm. Your responsibilities will range from overseeing financial operations, including customer billing, pricing and calculations, to financial modeling, to driving performance analysis, strengthening internal processes, and supporting the company's continued growth. You will also manage the accounting function in collaboration with our external accounting partner, ensuring robust internal controls, monthly/annual closings and general compliance work.

At Qurrent we build the platform to handle the power grid based on renewable energy sources. We believe that the energy system will change completely in the next decade and that the telemetry, software and algorithms that we develop will help solve the challenges that this transition brings.

Your Responsibilities

Financial Operations:

• Own the customer invoicing process and self-billing process, including underlying calculations and internal controls. Manage our billing software and execute all billing
• Lead day-to-day financial operations: accounts payables, monthly closings, accruals, reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), payroll, and cash flow management
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalable internal financial processes
• All core accounting, tax and payroll currently outsourced to a 3rd party firm. Be the owner of this relationship securing correct monthly and annual closings
• Lead the annual audit process – working with the audit team from PWC
• Take ownership of other financial activities and ad-hoc projects as they arise

Financial Planning and Reporting

• Drive Qurrent's long-term financial strategy, including financial planning, forecasting, and performance management
• Partner with the CEO and Executive Team on business development, profitability, and key strategic initiatives
• Manage relationships and reporting with financial partners such as, auditors, banks and external investors

Finance Projects:

• Together with CEO, CPTO, CCO and rest of the Qurrent team; ensure automation, effectiveness and accuracy across our financial operations, including financial flows, risks and regulations
• Lead the setup and development of Qurrent's treasury foundation incl. financial structure
• Continued high-impact projects within the company

Your Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar (Master's or MBA considered a bonus)
• Minimum 5+ years of finance professional experience with proven track record of analytical ability and personal drive
• Solid understanding and experience from accounting, FP&A, customer billing, financial operations and SaaS metrics
• Experience from a startup, high-growth environment, management consultancy or similar
• Deep expertise and experience working in Excel – building complex financial models
• Bonus: Experience from energy sector

As this role is our first in-house, full time Finance hire, we expect you to be very hands on in all financial matters, initially with focus on our customer billing processes, quote-to-cash, ensuring robustness in all systems and internal controls.
