Head of Finance

Milkywire, in partnership with Gazella, is looking for a Head of Finance who wants to play a central role in shaping the company's financial future. This is a broad, hands-on position where you'll combine operational finance, strategic leadership, and business development in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

You'll work closely with the CEO and Executive Team from Milkywire's office in central Stockholm, driving financial performance, strengthening internal processes, and supporting the company's continued growth. This includes overseeing the accounting function together with an external accounting partner and ensuring strong internal controls and compliance.

Your Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Planning

• Drive Milkywire's long-term financial strategy, including financial planning, forecasting, and performance management.
• Partner with the Executive Team on business development, profitability, and key strategic initiatives.
• Manage relationships with financial partners, auditors, and investors.

Financial Operations & Controlling

• Lead day-to-day financial operations: monthly closings, reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), payroll, and cash flow management.
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalable internal financial processes.
• Work closely with the external accounting firm and build strong internal controls.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
• Develop and implement efficient risk management routines and frameworks.

Treasury & Project Financing

• Oversee tracking, allocation, and disbursement of funds to climate and nature projects.
• Ensure high levels of financial accuracy across Milkywire's platform.
• Lead the development of the company's treasury strategy and financial structures.

Sustainability Reporting

• Manage and develop Milkywire's internal sustainability reporting for stakeholder transparency.
• Drive alignment with frameworks such as SBTi, central to Milkywire's business model.

Your Experience & Qualifications

Must-have

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience with strong analytical ability and drive.
• Solid understanding of accounting, financial regulation, and financial operations.
• Experience from a startup or high-growth environment.

Strong Advantages

• MBA, CPA, or equivalent certification.
• Experience from nonprofit or sustainability-related finance including donation and grant management, nonprofit governance, tax-deductibility and multi-market compliance, as well as exposure to corporate sustainability or climate-related finance.
• Experience with fundraising, investor relations, or innovative financial vehicles.
