Role Overview

We are seeking a
Junior Security Engineer
to support one of our key clients in strengthening operational resilience and disaster recovery capabilities within modern digital environments.

In this role, you will assist in designing, testing, and improving disaster recovery (DR) processes, while helping to drive the client's
Security & Privacy by Design
strategy. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, gather insights, help document best practices, and contribute to exercises that ensure system readiness during disruptions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior professional to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, business continuity, and resilience engineering within a large-scale, international setting.

Long-term the selected candidate will engage in other consultancy assignments as well as internal tasks.

Key Responsabilities:

• Support the design, documentation, and maintenance of resilience and disaster recovery (DR) plans.
• Assist in translating security/privacy findings into actionable risks to support informed decision-making.
• Help coordinate DR exercises, tabletop simulations, and technical recovery tests.
• Review systems and workflows with senior engineers to identify weaknesses or single points of failure.
• Support monitoring and tracking of resilience controls and recovery metrics.
• Maintain documentation of exercises, outputs, and follow-up actions.
• Help prepare training materials and support awareness building with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistent execution.

Core Competencies:

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
• Awareness of disaster recovery / business continuity principles
• Understanding of backup, high-availability, and failover concepts
• Familiarity with cyber risk assessment, vulnerability management, or incident response
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and cross-team collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and follow through on actions

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, cloud certs)
• Experience with scripting or automation tools
• Exposure to DR / tabletop exercises

Who You Are

You are an early-career security professional (approx.
2–5 years of experience
) with a foundation in cybersecurity and a strong interest in resilience, incident response, and disaster recovery.

You are eager to grow your skills, enjoy working collaboratively with engineering teams, and take a structured approach to problem-solving. You communicate clearly, are comfortable documenting processes, and are motivated by creating secure, reliable systems.
