An innovative clean energy company is developing next-generation technology designed to enhance renewable power generation by improving the performance of existing energy systems.

To support this next phase, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take a leading role in designing and optimizing their core mechanical systems.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsibilities

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will guide the design and implementation of complex mechanical systems, from early prototypes to production-ready assemblies. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Creating detailed 3D models, CAD designs, and assembly drawings for mechanical systems and components.
  • Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability targets.
  • Collaborating with structural engineers to refine designs for durability, strength, and efficiency.
  • Preparing designs for prototyping, testing, validation, and full-scale production.
  • Leading and contributing to design reviews, iterating based on testing insights and real-world performance data.
  • Maintaining accurate design documentation and ensuring updates are reflected in technical plans.
  • Ensuring all designs are production-ready, considering manufacturing constraints, cost efficiency, and ease of assembly.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer requirements

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, with strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Experience with product development and, ideally, systems designed for marine or harsh environments.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles including stress analysis, thermal considerations, and materials selection.
  • Experience designing rotating mechanical systems such as shafts, bearings, gearboxes, or similar components.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of producing manufacturable designs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • A proactive, learning-oriented mindset and a drive to contribute to product development.
