Project Description
Heat pump energy efficiency drives added complexity and cost to AC-systems. Global legislation drives evaluation of new refrigerants. To evaluate the future most efficient AC system components, a quick and effective tool is CAE, and specifically 1D GT suite.
Scope
Develop a virtual 1D AC-system test rig in GT-suite, correlate and tune the model to test data, using actual component information. Evaluate model environment in a known vehicle installation to test 1 or two new ideas, and refrigerants influence on the performance and functionality from -30 to +49C. The finished product should be possible to use in new development project.

Thermal management, energy efficiency, refrigerant loops, heat pumps, COP, 1D-simulation GT-suite.
Your Skills And Background
- Ongoing MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Energy Systems or similar.
- Interest and experience in system simulation and modeling (e.g. GT-Suite, Modelica, MATLAB/Simulink)
