We're looking for a Head of Design to lead and elevate our design capability. This role is ideal for a creative leader with strong strategic and commercial acumen - someone who can guide multidisciplinary teams, inspire craft excellence, and build client trust by connecting design to business outcomes.

About the Role

As Head of Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and growing NoA Ignite's design practice. You will lead a diverse team of designers across disciplines (research, UX, UI, product, service, visual), nurture a strong and inclusive team culture, and ensure our design work consistently delivers value for clients. You will also be a key player in commercial and strategic dialogues - supporting new business, co-developing proposals, and advising clients on how design can unlock user and business value.

As part of our extended management team, you will also help steer NoA Ignite's overall direction and growth, contributing to broader leadership decisions and cross-capability collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Craft Development:

  • Set the strategic vision and standards for design across the company
  • Drive excellence across UX, UI, product, service, and brand expression in digital touch points
  • Lead by example in key projects, guiding the creative direction and quality of delivery
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing & best practice development

Team & Capability Growth:

  • Mentor and support designers and design leads in their growth and development
  • Build a strong, inclusive team culture focused on learning, creativity, and accountability
  • Collaborate with HR and Managers to hire and retain top design talent
  • Identify capability gaps and lead upskilling or recruitment initiatives to bridge them

Client Engagement & Strategic Advisory:

  • Partner with clients to understand their business goals, user needs, and product vision
  • Provide design-led strategic guidance to influence roadmaps, platforms, and services
  • Ensure design is positioned as a core driver of business value in client dialogues

Commercial Contribution & Sales Support:

  • Co-lead pitch work and proposal development in collaboration with commercial, tech, and strategy teams
  • Define the role of design in client offerings and help shape compelling narratives
  • Estimate and scope design work to support accurate planning and delivery
  • Act as a key stakeholder in aligning design outcomes with client KPIs and contract terms

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Heads of Technology, Advisory, and Client Services for integrated delivery
  • Align design strategy with business and service development goals across the company
  • Foster collaboration between disciplines to ensure holistic, user-centered solutions

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned design leader with 10+ years of experience in digital product or service design
  • Experienced in an agency or consultancy setting, working with multiple clients and industries
  • A strong communicator with the ability to engage executives and stakeholders with clarity and conviction
  • Proven ability to link design strategy to business value, both in delivery and commercial settings
  • A team builder and mentor who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • An outstanding portfolio that showcases your impact as a designer and design leader

Bonus If You Also Have

  • Experience with distributed or cross-country teams
  • Background in service design, systems design, or brand experience
  • Familiarity with Nordic market dynamics and client needs
