Your role

Saab is growing at a dramatic pace in the Naval domain Want to contribute to our success? Dockstavarvet is looking for a Head of Business Development and Sales to spearhead its global market growth, with main office location in Docksta. Dockstavarvet is a world leading company with production of Combat Boats, Patrol Boats and Pilot Boats to customers worldwide.

As Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for Dockstavarvets growth in Sweden and internationally. Docksta is currently on a major growth trajectory where the demand for our products of the highest quality is extensive, and as Head of Business Development and Sales you will be responsible for ensuring a robust pipeline of reliable and profitable opportunities.

You will run the different business opportunities and leads in collaboration with Saabs international BD teams, meet with potential customers and lead bid teams. The role also includes leading and coordinating the required activities within Saab's Winning Business process. You will work closely with and report to the CEO at Dockstavarvet and functionally belong to the Business Development team at Saab Kockums and Group Business development. About 100 travel days, domestic and international, are part of the job.

The expectations on delivery are high as well as our trust in you and your willingness to perform at your best In addition to above, the main tasks consist of:

  • Responsibility for ensuring a pipeline of quality leads and prospects over time
  • Working as Product Sales Responsible with the Swedish customer as well as selected international customers to achieve Order Intake & Gross Margin targets
  • Working together with Customer Sales Responsible in Saab's global business development organization from early phases until contract signing
  • Planning and executing meetings with customers, users, partners, Government officials and other stakeholders at a international and national level
  • Being a part of the Docksta Management Team
  • Leading bid teams with support from Bid Office at Saab Kockums
  • Reporting bi-weekly on business progress and coming activities
  • Planning, preparing and attending exhibitions and other marketing activities
  • Managing customer delegation visits

This role is based primarily in Docksta, but we're open to candidates located in the other cities where the position has been advertised.

Your profile

You shall have a strong drive to close business and always strive to exceed expectations. We are looking for someone with former successful experience in international marketing and sales in similar positions. You must possess a high level of cultural sensitivity. It is essential that you are a team player and an excellent communicator. You will meet customer representatives at various levels but also connect with people in Saabs worldwide organizations.

It is an advantage to have an understanding of Saab processes and tools, products and organization. The product focus for this role will be Business Unit Docksta's product portfolio and services. In addition to this you have the ability to work with technical experts to identify solutions to meet customers' needs and requirements.

Required skills:

  • Previous working experience in international Marketing & Sales organizations
  • Good understanding and experience in managing and executing new business opportunities
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering or similar and/or ex Armed Forces Officer
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, verbal and written
  • Driving License

Other desirable skills regarded as a merit:

  • Project Management or similar experiences of leadership in an international environment
  • Other language skills than Swedish and English and earlier experiences of working in various cultural and international contexts
  • Good understanding of Business Unit Docksta products and services, combined with good ability to work with technical experts
  • Good knowledge of Naval customers worldwide

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
