At our Karlskoga site, we focus on new product development, combining advanced engineering, automation, and world-class manufacturing standards to bring next-generation dental solutions to life. We are seeking a Director of Operations/Plant Manager to lead our Karlskoga facility across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and EHS. This is a strategic leadership role where technical and engineering expertise is essential. You will drive operational excellence, champion automation and process optimization, and ensure compliance with global standards—all while fostering a culture of engagement and innovation.

What You'll Do

  • Team Leadership:
  • Manage and motivate managers and employees to foster a positive, productive work environment.
  • Provide leadership for Karlskoga operations across Purchasing, Production, Inventory, Shipping, Engineering, and Maintenance
  • Support career and personal development for Operations team members.
  • Performance Management:
  • Track and analyze operational performance, identify improvement areas, and implement solutions.
  • Drive factory performance to meet annual goals in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and growth.
  • Resource Management:
  • Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and resource allocation.
  • Lead production operations in support of corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Workflow Optimization:
  • Ensure efficient workflows across departments.
  • Champion Kaizen principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies, including roadmap development and training.
  • Strengthen supply chain health and prevent production disruptions through purchasing and inventory objectives.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement long-term operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with R&D, marketing, sales, and product development teams.
  • Actively seek employee feedback and foster a proactive continuous improvement culture.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks to ensure compliance and business continuity.

Job Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Automation, or related field)
  • 10+ years of operations leadership in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment
  • Strong background in Automation, Engineering, and Measurement Systems (nice to have)
  • Proven success in Lean/Continuous Improvement and driving operational excellence
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L responsibility
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to regulated industries such as pharma or medical devices (nice to have, not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with high-mix manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting new product development and technical innovation.
