Role Summary

As a Development Engineer, you will lead VCB system installations and contribute to heavy truck projects. Your work involves collaborating with different teams to integrate new technologies and methods, providing opportunities for innovation in transportation.

In this role, you will work with TRATON's modularity system, developing optimal solutions for VCB distribution boxes, charging boxes and inlet installation, PTOs installation, cable harness brackets and strain relief, as well as VCA cable interfaces within the chassis domain. You will work alongside our global cross-functional teams within product planning, production, and other design units. We also envision a future with smarter digital tools and processes and encourage you to participate in their development.

Job Responsibilities

You will design and develop advanced VCB system installations, using the latest technologies in heavy truck engineering. Responsibilities include hands-on Catia design, collaboration with teams and suppliers, attending validation tests, internal training, daily meetings, updating documentation, supporting production, and contributing to design reviews.

· Lead and mentor the global design community in TRATON's modular systems and agile methods.

· Manage projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely delivery and project goals are met.

· Train junior engineers and foster continuous learning and improvement within the team.

For this position, we imagine that you have:

· A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a similar educational level.

· At least two years of work experience in mechanical design or similar areas.

· Leadership experience or mentoring is highly meritorious.

· Experience in the automotive industry is considered beneficial.

· Experience in sheet metal and plastic design is a plus.

· Knowledge with rubber and sealings design is beneficial.

· Strong technical knowledge will be considered an advantage.

· Proficiency in English.
