Do you want to be part of facilitating the green transition? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your actions drive meaningful change? Do you enjoy solving hard problems together with ambitious people? If this sounds like you, this could be a perfect match.
Join us to facilitate the green transition
Ingrid Capacity was born out of necessity. The old energy system is broken, and we're here to rewrite the rules. We are a pioneering energy tech company on a mission to shape the future of energy by advancing power grid flexibility and optimization. By using the latest technologies in energy infrastructure and software development, we are building an intelligent, resilient, and sustainable energy system designed for the future.
What we do
We develop, own, and optimize grid-scale battery energy storage and flexible assets across Europe. Using advanced grid analytics, we strategically position our assets where they can support the electricity grid the most. With AI and data algorithmic solutions, combined with large-scale energy storage, we enable a faster and safer integration of renewable energy while eliminating grid challenges.
Since our founding in early 2022, we have emerged as the Nordic leader in enhancing energy system flexibility. We are currently driving an unprecedented expansion, deploying 400 MW of energy storage capacity across 20+ sites in Sweden by 2025 and building innovative software solutions that enhances grid flexibility. At the same time, we are leading our expansion across Europe, starting with Finland, Germany and other key European regions.
About the role
In this role, you will contribute to a range of modeling and software development projects, with a particular focus on enabling fast and reliable participation in intraday and balancing markets (e.g., mFRR EAM and aFRR EAM). As the share of renewables in the energy mix grows, these markets are becoming increasingly important, making your work highly valuable to the organization. By enhancing system performance, you will also support the efficient integration of renewable energy and help maintain the stability and flexibility of the power grid.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Algorithm
Development:
Design and implement trading algorithms that operate continuously, responding to real-time market signals and grid conditions. - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with traders, software engineers, and system operators to ensure that algorithms are robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals. - Performance Monitoring:
Track algorithm performance in production, analyze outcomes, and iterate rapidly to improve to evolving market conditions. - Domain Details:
Take initiatives to sort out technical details about the domain such as the Nord Pool trading platform. - System Integration:
Integrate intraday and balance market trading algorithms into larger trading systems, ensuring seamless data flow and decision support.
Who you are
- Theoretical Skills:
Knowledge of machine learning, statistics, optimization, and experience working with modeling (reinforcement learning or SDDP is a bonus). - Practical Skills:
Experience in software engineering, Python, machine learning libraries (e.g. PyTorch), cloud computing (GCP with Vertex AI is a bonus), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. Experience of continuous trading is a big plus. - Results-Oriented Mindset:
Takes ownership, makes sound decisions, and enjoys seeing projects through to completion. - Collaborative:
We value individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment. - Learning Agility:
Stays up to date with evolving ML technologies and embraces new methods and tools.
A degree in applied mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates. We are more interested in your passion, skills, and drive to make a difference
