If yes, we offer you the opportunity to join Pulp, Energy and Circularity (PEC), a newly established Sales and Operation Planning function to lead demand and supply planning in the Pulp Business. This is a strategic role that ensures alignment between global demand and supply, enabling efficient operations and customer satisfaction. You will report to the Director, Sales and Operations Planning, Pulp, Energy & Circularity.

As a Demand and Supply Planner, you work in a very close cooperation with different teams, across areas and functions, based on following Valmet pulp business locations: Sundsvall, Karlstad, Göteborg (Sweden).

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing demand forecasts using input from Capital and Service sales for selected product mix.
  • Develop and maintain supply plans that balance demand with production, inventory, and capacity constraints.
  • Review sales material requirements and conduct manufacturability assessments with the manufacturing team.
  • Coordinate inquiries, estimate costs, verify capacity and lead times with internal workshops and subcontractors.
  • Support sales with cost, capacity, and schedule information for both internal manufacturing and outsourcing options.
  • Conduct make-or-buy analyses and propose manufacturing strategies, including workshop selection during the sales phase.
  • Prepare Total Cost Analyses (TCAs), including idle capacity cost evaluations for different manufacturing options.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure optimal total cost, capacity, and lead times, and to develop the manufacturing plan.
  • Participate in risk reviews and maintain the make-or-buy strategy documentation.

Requirements:

  • Experience in demand and supply planning, preferably in industrial or machinery sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in planning tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Proactive mindset with a passion for process optimization and data-driven decision-making.
  • Educational background in technical or commercial disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
