We are strengthening our Legal function with a new
Legal Counsel within team Payment Services & Financial Crime Prevention Law
. In this role, you will provide legal support and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and help the organization manage legal risks related to financial crime prevention and payment services. The role offers great opportunities for professional development, while also giving you the chance to work in an exciting and innovative banking environment.

You will be part of NOBA`s Legal function, a skilled and collaborative group of 15 Legal Counsels and one Paralegal divided into five specialist teams working across Oslo and Stockholm.
The position can be based in either office.
The PS & FCP Law team currently includes one Legal Counsel based in Stockholm.

Main Tasks

  • Supporting the business with legal matters related to payment services and the prevention of financial crime – including anti–money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and fraud prevention.
  • Advising the business on adjacent legal areas such as consumer protection and data protection law.
  • Assisting in ensuring that the bank's legal risk remains within its defined risk appetite.
  • Monitoring regulatory and legal developments in the field, and supporting the business in adapting to new or amended rules and requirements.

Who are you?
We are looking for a legal professional with about 3-5 years of relevant experience who combines strong analytical skills with sound legal judgment and a genuine interest in financial regulation and financial crime prevention.

You Also Need To

  • Have a Law degree from Sweden or Norway.
  • Have good knowledge of Financial Crime Prevention Law and Banking Law.
  • Professional experience from working as a legal counsel within banking/financial services, a business law firm or a supervisory authority.
  • Communicate fluently in Swedish or Norwegian, as well as English.
