Your role at a glance 

The Finance team is at the heart of our journey to transform from a fast-growing fintech into a fully licensed bank. We enable the business to scale safely by ensuring robust internal controls, compliant reporting, and seamless execution of financial processes.

We are now looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Accounting & Financial Control to lead our accounting and financial control function on this exciting journey. Your responsibilities

In this role, you'll:

• Lead and develop the Accounting and Financial Control team, including both junior and senior accountants. Since this role is a new function you will have a great opportunity to impact the structure and the workflow of the accounting organisation.
  
• Build, strengthen and oversee internal control frameworks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  
• Ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting, including IFRS-conversion (with external consultants) and reporting to the Financial Supervisory Authority.
  
• Drive change management initiatives to align accounting and finance processes with bank standards.
  
• You will be part of the Finance-management team and collaborate closely with CFO, Head of FP&A, Head of Treasury but also Credit Team, Risk, Compliance, and other key stakeholders. The role reports to the CFO.
  
• Serve as an executive partner to CFO, management and the board - providing insights and financial leadership.
  
• Overall responsible for statutory reporting (such as annual report), the key contact for external audits, oversees external reporting, tax compliance (including transfer pricing) and consolidation processes.
  
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation where possible.

Qualifications

What we need to see

• University degree in Finance, Business or Economics, preferably with a major in accounting.
• +10 years of relevant experience, including senior leadership roles in audit, accounting, financial control or finance.
• Proven background in the financial sector, preferably banking, payments or other regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax reporting, regulatory reporting and internal control frameworks.
• Track record of leading change, decision making, and transformation projects in dynamic environments.
• Executive presence with excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What we'd love to see

• Experience from a Big 4 firm combined with line management experience in the financial sector.
• Hands-on exposure to financial supervision requirements and regulatory audits.
• Experience in process automation and financial systems implementation.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.
• Experience of ERP system NetSuite.
