 Calibration Engineer – HVAC Systems (Automotive)

Do you have a passion for system calibration and want to work hands-on with thermal comfort systems in vehicles? We are now looking for a Calibration Engineer specialized in HVAC systems for driver cabins. The focus of this assignment is on calibrating heating and cooling systems to ensure performance, energy efficiency, and comfort in all climate conditions.

This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with development engineers and use tools like ETAS INCA to fine-tune system behavior across a wide range of operating scenarios. You will also take part in test campaigns to verify and validate your calibrations in real-world environments.

About the Assignment

You will join a skilled development team working on climate control systems in heavy-duty vehicles. Your main responsibility will be HVAC calibration – from early tuning to validation in test vehicles – ensuring optimal performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. The role also involves test planning, sensor setup, and performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate HVAC systems in trucks with a focus on thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

  • Use ETAS INCA and related tools for calibration, data logging, and real-time adjustments.

  • Plan and execute test drives and climate chamber tests (including winter/summer campaigns).

  • Set up measurement equipment and sensors in test vehicles.

  • Analyze calibration data and adjust parameters for optimal results.

  • Work closely with HVAC developers, test engineers, and diagnostic teams.

  • Document calibration strategies, findings, and recommended improvements.

Your Profile

  • Solid hands-on experience in calibrating HVAC or thermal systems, preferably in automotive applications.

  • Skilled in tools such as:

    • ETAS INCA 

    • Vector CANoe, X-com, Gadget

  • Comfortable working with diagnostics, system understanding, and parameter tuning.

  • Strong analytical mindset – experience with MATLAB or similar tools is an advantage.

  • Experience from the automotive industry is a strong plus.

  • You are structured, independent, and proactive in solving technical challenges.

  • B driver's license required; C license (heavy truck) is a strong advantage.
