Engineering Manager - Payments

Join us at Kivra We are looking for people with passion for software development, love solving problems, and thrive in agile development environments. We have grown tremendously and are looking for an Engineering Manager to help us scale

At Kivra, we are building services that connect over 6,3 million people by providing a safe and accessible digital infrastructure that everyone in Sweden can trust and use. At the same time, we are saving trees - reducing the paper that is printed and transported - by providing a better digital alternative to physical paper communication.

What you'll be doing

We are looking for an Engineering Manager that will work both strategically and hands-on with our Payments team.

Part of being our new Engineering Manager is to lead a small team of engineers. You will manage, develop and coach the people in your team so they are happy, motivated and have the opportunity to grow. The payments team works in an agile environment committed to the DevOps principles, and you will have a great influence in enabling scalability and technical innovation.

Our services deal with large amounts of users, data and transactions daily, and our objective is to do so with 100% availability. We believe in doing things smart, simple and open source - and this is reflected in our tech stack. Our platform and core is built on Erlang and Riak. We also utilize Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, GCP, Kafka, Ansible, Elixir, Go, Splunk, Github, and more. We believe that you will be actively involved in development, operations and incidents, leading by example and contributing to the overall success of the team.

Security, reliability, and scalability are three areas we value highly and that serve as a foundation for our services; and central to the work you'll do. You will provide technical direction, reinforce engineering practices and ensure adherence to coding standards, reliability, and scalability principles. You will also be establishing cross functional relationships and working closely with our domain architects, product managers and other engineering managers to ensure that technical solutions align with business goals.

About you

We believe that you have experience managing software engineering teams and are used to empower, support and coach on a daily basis. You have a strong engineering background and can support your team with the roadmap, design and implementation tradeoffs. As you will be an essential part of driving the Payments team forward, we believe that you have a genuine interest in financial technology and payments. Furthermore, you have extensive experience with Agile/Scrum processes and their role in DevOps.

We also think that you

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Have a relevant degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Have passion for continuous learning and development for yourself and your team.

We offer

Kivra offers a role in a caring and committed team at a company that is growing and constantly evolving. You will be part of a warm and friendly culture built on collaboration and team spirit. You will help shape a product that is used today by more than half of Sweden's population.

This role is full-time and based in Stockholm. We offer the flexibility that life sometimes requires, but we believe that collaboration and value creation happen best when we sit and work together from our office in central Stockholm.

We offer a competitive compensation package and great benefits. Read more about our values and benefits here:
