Associate Engineer

We are seeking a full time Associate engineer as an intern to join our team, working alongside us on projects while gaining experience in a dynamic studio environment sometime between January-June 2026 for your specific intern/LIA period related to your school. You'll be sitting with a mentor, contributing code and ideas to a real project, and participating in our ceremonies (and celebrations).

With this short term role we want you to be working alongside with the team as much as possible in person. Our Malmo studio is highly attended and we expect you to be in person in the Malmo studio 5 days a week.

• Build Android features with Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
• Pair program, write tests, and learn modern Android patterns (MVVM, DI, Retrofit).
• Prototype ideas with designers/product, refining based on feedback.
• Participate in project rituals (stand-ups, crits, demos, retros) and team ways-of-working.

• Compose-first UI, testing, and architecture
• Ways of working in a collaborative product studio: development, code reviews, and project delivery
• Applying research to product development
• And you'll gain valuable experience working on a full-stack mobile application, where the backend and native frontend development is all part of the same team.
  
  

• Completed (or nearly completed) a course of study — formal or informal — covering development fundamentals (we don´t require an engineering degree)
• A solid grasp of at least one programming language, ideally Kotlin.
• A curious, collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn.
• Experience or a strong interest in developing mobile applications.
• Some hands-on exposure to native mobile (Android or iOS) development beyond coursework.
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform or cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter.
• Side projects or experiments to share or discuss.
• Availability to join us on-site in our Malmö studio for a full-time internship sometime between jan-june 2026
