The role as Strategic Purchaser is part of our global Operations organization, which is located at several different sites and includes functions such as purchasing, product quality, logistics and production. This position will be based at our headquarters in Gothenburg, and reports to the Senior Sourcing Manager.

About the Role

As a Strategic Purchaser, you will work with both strategic and operational sourcing activities in a global supplier environment. You will take ownership of key supplier relationships and play a central role in developing and executing sourcing strategies that support cost efficiency, supply continuity, and sustainable sourcing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and be actively involved in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, giving you the opportunity to influence sourcing across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and develop relationships with key suppliers within assigned categories
• Develop, implement, and execute sourcing strategies and category strategic plans
• Secure supplier base capability, mitigate supply risks, and improve sustainability performance
• Conduct market and supplier research to support strategic sourcing decisions
• Represent sourcing in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and product changes to perform related sourcing activities
• Identify, drive, and implement cost-saving initiatives and sourcing projects
• Negotiate with suppliers and establish commercial agreements and contracts
• Perform inventory optimization activities
• Plan and create purchase orders
• Ensure material availability through expediting and follow-up on material supply
• Review and approve supplier invoices

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced and driven professional who thrives in a dynamic, international environment. You have solid experience in supplier management and strategic sourcing, and you feel confident challenging suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes. You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, using your analytical mindset to drive improvements and deliver results. With clear communication, strong commercial acumen, and a collaborative mindset, you build long-term partnerships and create sustainable value for the business.

Key qualifications include:

• University degree in Engineering or Economics, preferably with a focus on Supply Chain
• Minimum 3 years of broad experience in sourcing and purchasing
• Experience working with global suppliers of electronic and mechanical components within industrial manufacturing
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Category B driving license
