About the Role

We are now looking for a skilled and committed Service Technician to join Volvo Group in Gothenburg. You will be part of the Verification, Testing & Material Technology department within Powertrain Engineering, Group Trucks Technology.

Powertrain Engineering Laboratory is a state-of-the-art testing facility covering more than 20,000 square meters, with testing capabilities for engines, transmissions, drivelines, acoustics, and system verification. The lab also includes dedicated areas for calibration, service, and maintenance of test equipment and facilities.

As a Service Technician, you will belong to the Test Cell Service team, consisting of 18 dedicated colleagues who work with preventive and corrective maintenance of measurement equipment in the test cells. You will support engine, system, and transmission testing operations and contribute to maintaining world-class test performance and reliability.

This is a daytime position (07:30–16:12) with flexible hours available.

Profile

We are looking for a technically skilled, hands-on person who enjoys solving problems and working in a structured way. You are motivated by high-tech environments and have a genuine interest in engines, vehicles, and measurement systems.

You have good communication skills, take initiative, and are committed to maintaining quality and safety in all aspects of your work. You thrive in teamwork and have a positive, solution-oriented attitude.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines and vehicles
  • Experience from mechanical and/or electrical workshop environments
  • Experience in troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of testing or measuring equipment
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and measurement systems
  • Experience from service and maintenance work
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Technical upper secondary education or equivalent experience

Previous experience from similar work within test laboratories or the automotive industry is considered a strong merit.
