Your role   

We are now looking for Senior Data & AI Engineers or Senior Data Scientists to scale our Data & AI Capabilities within the Engineering Practices of Capgemini. You will be part of a diverse and inclusive team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Software Engineers, working on a variety of Client Challenges within the Automotive, Manufacturing, Life Science, Defense, Retail and Telecom Industries.

The Role combines client-facing responsibilities and internal Capgemini assignments. The client-facing assignment will be determined according to individual skills and strategic targets of Capgemini. The Role is based primarily in Gothenburg and may include occasional business trips. We will be looking for new colleagues throughout the year but will prioritize candidates who are available to join within a 2–3-month timeline.

You will deliver value to Nordic clients through senior-level assignments, contribute to solution design and presales activities, mentor junior colleagues, and act as a Subject Matter Expert in Data, AI & ML. Collaboration with other engineering practices to optimize operations is key.  

Key Responsibilities include: 

• Lead client projects and provide technical expertise.  
• Support presales and solution architecture discussions.  
• Drive competence development and mentor junior team members.  
• Represent the organization as a thought leader in Data, AI & ML.  
• Collaborate across engineering domains to implement data-driven optimizations. 

Your profile 

Required Qualifications: 

• PhD or Master's in computer science, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, or related engineering fields.  
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.  
• Proficiency in Python, R, C++, and statistical data analysis.  
• Experience with databases (SQL, Elasticsearch), data management tools (Databricks), and data pipelines (Spark, PySpark, Kafka, Hadoop).  
• Familiarity with ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).  
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and agentic workflows on cloud platforms. Ability to engage with external technology stakeholders.

We value flexibility to adapt in high-pace working environments. Ability to lead own tasks and coordinate others. Excellent English communication skills, both writing and speaking.  
  

Meritorious Qualifications: 

• Swedish Language Skills  
• Interest & Experience in Technical Leadership Roles, Project Management or People management  
• Working Experience within our Target Industries, such as Automotive, Automotive, Manufacturing, Lifescience, Defense, Retail and Telecom Industries or our Partnership Ecosystems (such as NVIDIA, PTC, AWS, Google, Microsoft etc.)  
• Driver's License

We are reviewing candidates continuously and will be flexible to discuss contracts with later start dates. We are open to exceptional candidates who can prove the requested competence without fulfilling the stated requirements (for example not holding an academic title).  

Most of our clients are based in Gothenburg; however, we do have opportunities in other locations. Therefore, we are open to reviewing candidates who are based out of Gothenburg, if they are able to travel for the needs of their assignments as per client request. Candidates based in Gothenburg will be prioritized.  

In this recruitment process, we might ask about your current citizenship. This is due to some of our projects being aimed at the military and defense industry. For those openings, a Swedish citizenship is needed. We will also perform an ID-check during the interview phase for all candidates.
