In this role, you'll take on meaningful technical challenges and work closely with cross-functional teams to build products that empower millions of merchants worldwide. Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
• Advises immediate management on project-level issues
• Guides junior engineers
• Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

Expected Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Your day-to-day
As a Backend Engineer, you'll contribute to designing and delivering high-quality solutions while learning from and collaborating closely with your team. Your day-to-day will include:

• Developing and implementing solutions with growing ownership and confidence.
• Making thoughtful technical decisions and seeking feedback or guidance when needed.
• Balancing trade-offs in system design, scalability, and performance.
• Breaking down complex problems, asking the right questions, and helping to shape practical solutions.
• Contributing to team discussions, sharing ideas, and helping improve how the team builds and delivers software.

What You Need To Succeed

• Solid experience with RESTful API development and microservice architecture.
• Hands-on work with Java and familiarity with testing frameworks and practices.
• Understanding of system design fundamentals and production-grade backend systems.

Get bonus points if you also have...

• Experience with Kotlin and deploying to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana or Datadog.
• Understanding or experience with event-driven architecture or message-based systems.
