Software Engineer – Technology Frameworks
We are building the foundational infrastructure and platform services that power the next generation of Sectra's medical imaging and healthcare solutions. This role is for a software/devops engineer who thrives on learning, adapts quickly to new challenges, and cares deeply about building reliable, secure, and scalable systems that enable all our product teams to deliver better solutions for healthcare.
You will design and deliver production-grade platform services and infrastructure while leveraging modern AI tools and techniques to accelerate development and enhance system capabilities. Your work ensures that whether it's logging, edge computing, monitoring, or performance optimization, our platform services are rock-solid, efficient, and enable seamless integration across the entire Sectra ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality platform services and infrastructure used across all Sectra product areas
- Apply AI tools (e.g., code assistants, code generators) responsibly to increase velocity without compromising quality, security, or cost
- Collaborate with product teams, architects, and end-users to translate infrastructure requirements into robust, scalable solutions
- Own features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, observability, documentation, and deployment
- Implement and uphold strong engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, performance profiling, reliability standards
- Work with modern distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and observability patterns (metrics, logging, tracing, SRE practices)
- Administer and optimize Linux-based infrastructure, including system configuration, performance tuning, scripting and troubleshooting
- Continuously learn: evaluate new tools, frameworks, and AI capabilities; share knowledge across the team and the broader organization
Core abilities:
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures/algorithms, concurrency, networking, API design, distributed systems, software architecture
- Strong Linux systems expertise: command-line proficency, shell scripting (Bash), system administration, networking, process management, and troubleshooting in production environments
- Proficiency in one or more languages used for high-performance backend and infrastructure development (e.g., C#, Typescript, C++, Go) and modern tooling
- Experience with cloud services, containers, and CI/CD (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless)
- Reliability and observability mindset: automated testing, monitoring (metrics/logs/traces), performance awareness, and SRE practices
- Security and privacy literacy (secure coding, handling sensitive data, infrastructure security)
- Curiosity and learning agility; ability to adapt to new domains, tools, and AI workflows
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional approach
- Required: Humor and strong academic record from university and upper secondary school; please include transcripts or grade summaries in your application
Nice to have:
- Experience building platform or infrastructure services that support multiple downstream consumers
- Strong foundation in system design, scalability, and cost optimization (FinOps)
- Advanced Linux expertise: kernel tuning, security hardening, configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), or experience with multiple Linux distributions
- Experience with logging systems, monitoring platforms, or observability infrastructure
- Familiarity with healthcare IT standards and constraints (compliance, data handling, interoperability)
- Frontend experience that complements backend work, or infrastructure tooling/dashboards
- Pursue passions outside of work, whether in sports, music, the arts, or unique hobbies
,
