Do you want to be part of building the machines that power endless energy? Look no further
Exeger has invented a solar cell technology that enables endless energy – Powerfoyle. This breakthrough allows products to generate clean energy from ambient light and is already changing how technology is used worldwide.
Exeger is a Swedish innovation company with strong roots in industrial excellence. Development and manufacturing take place in urban factories where science, production, and engineering work side by side. The company's vision is to touch the lives of one billion people through sustainable energy solutions.
Exeger is built by innovators and doers who are passionate about creating real impact. Many challenges have no predefined solutions, and the company embraces this with curiosity, determination, and collaboration.
About the role
Exeger is looking for a Machine Vision Engineer to join the Software and Mechatronics team within the Industrialization department.
This is a hands-on role with a clear core focus on machine vision in production machinery. Your daily work will revolve around developing, maintaining, and improving the vision systems that ensure quality, precision, and stable operation in Exeger's production lines.
The role includes both new development and maintenance of existing systems. This may involve troubleshooting issues in running production, improving inspection stability, implementing new vision capabilities, or contributing to the development of new machines. In project-based work, you will be responsible for the machine vision perspective and collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers.
What the role involves
Developing, maintaining, and improving machine vision systems for production machinery
Taking responsibility for vision solutions in machine development projects
Troubleshooting and resolving vision-related issues in live production environments
Implementing improvements and new functionality in existing inspection systems
Working with cameras, optics, lighting, calibration, and image acquisition settings to ensure robust and repeatable results
Participating in the commissioning, testing, and validation of machines
Collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers
Developing deep expertise in one or several of Exeger's unique process areas
Who are you?
To be successful in this role, we believe that you have:
Engineering degree in mechatronics, automation, computer engineering, software engineering, or equivalent
Hands-on experience working with industrial machine vision systems
Experience from production machinery or an industrial environment
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Professional fluency in spoken and written English
Meriting experience
Experience from volume manufacturing or industrialisation
Experience with higher-level programming languages such as C#, Python, or C++
Experience with common vision tools/platforms (e.g. HALCON, Cognex, Keyence, Basler/GenICam, OpenCV)
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, or MQTT
Experience with PLC integration and production automation environments
IIoT concepts and data capture from machines
Mechanical design and 3D CAD understanding (interface and mounting of cameras/lighting)
Hands-on installation and commissioning
Risk assessments, safety reviews, and FMEA
Project or technical leadership experience
Personal qualities
Exeger places strong emphasis on personality and cultural fit. The right person is self-driven, comfortable with change, and confident working with a high level of autonomy. The role comes with responsibility and accountability, and Exeger values engineers who take ownership while being open to learning from mistakes.
The culture is collaborative and non-blaming, with a shared focus on solving problems and continuously improving.
