Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to fill a doctoral position in History of Science, Technology and Environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a research project that combines critical media studies, environmental humanities, history of technology, post-structural policy analysis, feminist epistemology, and science and technology studies.

  • This project focuses on the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) for environmental purposes, generating a surge in scientific projects and publications aimed at applying AI to combat various environmental problems.
  • The project views the ways in which AI can contribute to new knowledge or solve a problem largely depend on how the problem itself is framed and communicated.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must have basic eligibility in accordance with either of the following:

  • a second cycle degree (for example a master's degree),
  • completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 second-cycle higher education credits, or
  • acquired equivalent knowledge in some other way within or outside the country.

In addition to the above, applicants must demonstrate the ability to write a longer scientific thesis in the subject area, equivalent to a master's thesis. A mandatory requirement for English equivalent to English B/6 must also be met.
