Job Overview
Huawei is seeking an experienced Senior Power Conversion Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research and development department, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing novel power converter systems for various applications.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual with expertise in power electronics and electrical engineering. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with internal customers to define system requirements and needs for Huawei's future products and solutions;
- Executing R&D projects for novel power converter system architecture and topology focusing on low- and medium-power products such as rectifiers, servers, EV chargers, and PV systems;
- Designing and testing power converter systems in our R&D laboratories;
- Working with external R&D institutes and universities on collaboration projects for developing high-power converters and associated control algorithms for relevant applications of Huawei's Digital Power Product Line;
- Documenting R&D activities and results;
- Representing Huawei at international conferences and exhibitions for external communications.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Master's or PhD degree in Power Electronics/Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or a related field);
- Deep knowledge of power-converter topologies, modulation, and control algorithms, as well as magnetic simulation tools;
- Good theoretical understanding of basic power electronic converters' principles and wide-bandgap semiconductor devices;
- Highly motivated and interested in innovative solutions and technologies, with a willingness to lead technical R&D activities;
- High-level self-reliance, autonomy, and teamwork skills;
- Fundamental knowledge of DC/DC, DC/AC, and AC/DC converter topologies;
- Hardware skills: digital systems, high-power converter design, magnetic design, schematic, and PCB design;
- Simulation tools: PSIM, MATLAB, COMSOL, PLECS, and Simulink;
- Software skills: DSP series and digital control.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position, and you will be required to travel occasionally to Huawei China for internal communications and cooperation.
