About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrification Engineer to lead our mechanical design efforts and drive innovation in the field of marine electrification.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Lead electrical design in marine electrification projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop efficient and effective solutions. Collaborate with colleagues to design and develop new products and services that meet customer needs.
  2. Team Coordination: Manage tasks within the mechanical engineering team, prioritizing and coordinating activities to achieve project goals. Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication among team members.
  3. Standardization: Implement standard components and products in designs, improving efficiency and reducing costs. Develop and maintain documentation to support standardization efforts.
  4. Project Oversight: Oversee detailed mechanical design development and project-specific equipment, conducting calculations to verify designs. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  5. Conceptual Design: Develop conceptual designs, layouts, and production drawings in AutoDesk Inventor. Work closely with designers and engineers to create visually appealing and functional designs.
  6. Documentation: Update drawings to 'As-Built' documentation based on feedback from stakeholders. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of design changes and revisions.
Supporting Responsibilities
  1. Client Support: Assist project managers in client meetings, providing technical expertise and support. Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  2. Survey Work: Conduct vessel surveys to support design work, gathering data and insights to inform design decisions. Collaborate with surveyors and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete data collection.
  3. Tender Preparation: Contribute to technical and commercial tenders, recommending improved production methods and materials. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop compelling tender submissions.
  4. Supplier Management: Engage with suppliers to define requirements for purchased products, verifying quality and approval. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  5. Installation Support: Support installation teams upon questions during installation, ensuring smooth execution. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  6. Quality Assurance: Assist in verifying quality of delivered solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Participate in quality control processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Education: MSc/BSc in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Strong electrical design expertise, understanding of shipbuilding concepts and industry standards, proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2D/3D, Vault, and Plant 3D.

Personal Attributes: Proactive and solution-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities, fluent in English (verbal & written).
