About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Application Engineer to join our team at Manta Systems, a leading technology company in the field of underwater autonomy. As a Field Application Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering customer value and supporting the development of our cutting-edge autonomous underwater vehicles and seismic ocean bottom nodes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Field Testing and Operations: Plan and conduct field tests or operations, working closely with our team to execute the plan.
  2. Material and Permit Coordination: Coordinate material and permits to ensure smooth operations.
  3. Test Plan Execution: Support and execute tests according to the test plan.
  4. Meeting and Feedback: Set up meetings to provide feedback on all relevant information to the developers.
  5. Operations and Training: Support operations at the vessels, training, and educating our own people and subcontractors.
  6. Node Service and Maintenance: Plan and execute service of the nodes.
  7. Competence Building: Build up our competence for remote back-office support.
Requirements
  1. Team Player and Independent Thinker: A team player who requires little supervision and can work independently.
  2. Curiosity and Pragmatism: Curious and pragmatic, with the ability to understand customer requirements and pain points.
  3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take a step back, analyze, and collaborate with others to agree upon the best solution.
  4. Practical Experience: Practical experience in using the system in a relevant environment, learning, and disseminating information.
  5. Travel and Documentation: Ability to travel extensively, both internationally and nationally, and document solutions and activities in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Relevant Experience: Relevant experience in subsea, autonomous development, or field work, preferably with experience in Linux, PLC/robotics, sensors, electromechanical systems.
