**Studio Animation Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Studio Animation Director to lead our animation department and contribute to the success of our games. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of talented animators, providing guidance and mentorship, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality animations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by Example: Set the standard for animation quality and excellence, and lead by example in terms of animation techniques, game knowledge, and storytelling.
- Team Management: Manage a team of animators, provide guidance and feedback, and facilitate the optimal work environment for your team.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Art, Engineering, and Design teams to establish the aesthetic look and feel of animations, and effectively communicate the art and design direction to the animators.
- Animation Leadership: Oversee the work of the animators, lead the iteration process, and provide feedback on all areas of animation.
- Game Knowledge: Understand game-required techniques, such as blending, tagging, state machine transitions, animation blending trees, compression, and participate in the improvement of these techniques.
- Project Management: Ensure on-time delivery for all deliverables, working closely with project managers for all planning aspects.
- Pipeline Improvement: Work with the Producers, Department Leads, and Animation team to establish methods to improve the production pipeline, tools, and systems that will benefit the integrity of the animation for the studio.
- Career Development: Manage the career growth and development of direct reports, evaluate team members' goals and objectives, and ensure alignment with department and company objectives.
- Experience: Proven experience in a Lead or Director role in the games industry, working on AA+ titles.
- Animation Skills: A strong understanding of quick and efficient iteration techniques that respect the gameplay requirements while displaying high quality.
- Leadership: The ability to lead, collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with other animators and directors.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills that allow you to work efficiently with other disciplines and departments.
- Teamwork: Contributed and been part of a highly creative team, used to giving and receiving feedback.
- Game Knowledge: A solid understanding of game asset creation pipelines and the ability to learn and master new tools, processes, and pipelines.
- Project Management: An ability to work closely with project managers to develop schedules and keep these schedules.
- Game Enthusiasm: A familiarity and excitement for games and game development.
- First and Third Person Titles: Previous experience working with both first and third person titles.
- Unreal Engine Experience: Previous experience working with Unreal Engine 4/5.
