Position Overview

Join our dedicated team at Hitachi Energy Sweden AB as a Senior Commissioning Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in the design and documentation processes for our projects. This position offers you the chance to enhance our quality and cost efficiency by contributing to our foundational design platform, processes, and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute testing and commissioning for High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) substations, including HV/MV switchgear, transformers, and auxiliary systems.
  • Participate in pre-commissioning meetings, planning, and preparation of documentation.
  • Adhere to electrical safety protocols and other Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines as per Hitachi and customer standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Site Manager to coordinate on-site commissioning activities.
  • Assist in tendering processes by providing commissioning plans and time/cost estimates.
  • Assume the role of commissioning leader or manager for specific projects when designated.
  • Mentor junior engineers by sharing your expertise and knowledge.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for yourself while supporting your colleagues and the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in the commissioning of substations.
  • Strong expertise in on-site testing of key components within substations.
  • Familiarity with setting and testing relay protection systems (e.g., RET670/REF615).
  • Knowledge of testing in digital substations according to IEC 61850 is advantageous.
  • Experience in Substation Engineering projects from the tendering phase through to laboratory testing and on-site execution.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and responsibility, with a willingness to share knowledge and experience.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Swedish, Finnish, or Danish is a plus.
