Purchasing Strategist

Polestar is expanding its research and development capabilities with the establishment of a new R&D center in the United Kingdom. Located in Coventry, England, this new facility will enable Polestar to increase its own R&D capabilities and strengthen the brand's ability to engineer its future electric performance vehicles.

Do you want to leave a lasting legacy for present and future generations? We are seeking an experienced buyer to join our Electric Propulsion System (EPS) team. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of EPS development and drive sustainability in the supply chain.

This role is based in our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden. As a key member of our team, your primary responsibilities will include leading Polestar sourcing for EPS related parts. You will establish supplier bases for each area, defining short- and long-term sourcing strategies, and aligning with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop procurement strategies in collaboration with R&D teams.
• Negotiate commercial and legal agreements with suppliers.
• Collaborate with the sustainability team to drive sustainability in the supply chain.
• Review purchase requisitions and select contract/suppliers in accordance with defined strategies and agreements.
• Provide procurement expertise and support to stakeholders at all stages of the procurement cycle.
• Collaborate with other Geely Holding functions to achieve common goals.
• Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contract compliance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a buyer within the EPS functions or similar purchasing position.
• Experience working with global businesses and international stakeholders.
• Strong social abilities and excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
• Thorough understanding of the procurement process and strategic sourcing principles.
