About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Engine Development Specialist to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden. As part of our Engine Structure team, you will be responsible for overseeing technical deliveries and maintenance for assigned components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving component development and harmonizing technical solutions in alignment with system road maps.
  • Collaborating closely with purchasing, operations, quality, and suppliers to achieve optimized component solutions.
  • Actively contributing to the team's continuous improvement initiatives and Volvo's sustainable transport solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge engine technologies and contribute to innovative solutions for heavy-duty trucks, buses, excavators, and boats.

To succeed in this role, you should have a keen technical interest, a strong team orientation, and a desire to contribute to high-performing engine development teams.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educational background: B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in designing casted components in metal or plastic.
  • CAD proficiency: Skilled in Creo design software.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Experienced in working with multiple stakeholders in a Component Responsible role.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. We also provide opportunities for professional growth within a supportive and inclusive team environment.
