Onboard Control Systems Designer

About this role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an onboard control systems designer where you'll utilise your technical expertise in real-time system architecture to contribute to the development of our onboard control systems.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Project Engineering Team and System Product Team to ensure smooth project execution.

The Automatic Train Control (ATC) System plays a vital role in ensuring safe train operations and preventing accidents.

The Trackside ATC sends critical information to Onboard ATC enabling the train to enter a specific segment safely.

Onboard ATC compares received information against actual train conditions and restricts movement if there's a risk of exceeding safe limits.

Your key responsibilities

  • You'll develop the Onboard ATC system architecture and define requirements.
  • You'll collaborate with teams across the business to ensure successful project delivery.
  • You'll coordinate verification and validation activities and project deployment activities in accordance with the system roadmap.
  • You'll create system designs provide related documentation and lead ATC Design Reviews.
  • You'll identify and troubleshoot Verification and Validation test failures and implement corrective actions.

  • Strong understanding of complex real-time systems.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware interactions.
  • Knowledge of requirements management principles.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Swedish is an asset.
